We're also very appreciative, once again to Karen Shelton for joining us from our show sponsor, my path unwinding travel. We're here to talk all about Disney destiny, destiny itinerary releases from today. So very, very excited for this. [00:02:14] Speaker C: We have been waiting for too long for this to happen. [00:02:17] Speaker B: This has been a long time coming. [00:02:21] Speaker C: Seriously, we have a whole bunch of people joining us live, so I just want to say hi out there. We've got tinfoil mouse ears. Hey, CT. He also commented that he's, he loves that Karen is on tonight. We love it, too. We've got Linda watching. Linda, long time no see. We just saw her literally yesterday at California Adventure. We've got Taryn who is talking about booking a cruise on the 6th or on Pearl day. And she's asking about the inaugural. She means the maiden voyage. She's going to book in January. We've got a cruising DCl family, which is the morals joining us. We got Tracy joining us. I love this. We've got a guest. We've got Melinda Martinez. She's a new duo listener. Hey, Melinda. Or. Yeah, Melinda, I was about to call you Martina. Hey, Melinda, thanks for joining us. We've got Samara, we've got Holly Franklin. Also we've got Dcl Dan. You missed Holly Franklin, Brian. [00:03:20] Speaker A: Oh, I did. [00:03:20] Speaker C: There you go. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, we've got tons of people joining us today live. Love that. Thank you all for joining us. Um, we wanted to, you know, we actually, we were anticipating this happening, so we messaged Karen over the weekend and said, hey, if itineraries come out on Tuesday, you're free for a live. And so we were, we were figuring this had to be happening because Friday is when bookings open. I feel like that's what we should talk about first, right? The dates for booking. Brian, do you have that little, do you have the graphic with the dates for booking? [00:03:55] Speaker A: Actually, I can do you one better if you give me 1 second. I'm going to pull up the website here for Disney cruise line. Just give me 1 second. Oh, no. [00:04:07] Speaker C: And Tracy says this is what happens when we take a Monday off, is that we have to do a Tuesday live show. Right. [00:04:12] Speaker B: There you go. [00:04:14] Speaker C: We've got Adon also on here watching, saying hey all. Hi, Donna. All right, all right. [00:04:20] Speaker A: There they are. This is the Disney Cruise Line website. These are the booking dates. We'll bring these back up again at the end to remind folks after you get excited, after you see all the pricing and everything, you're going to want to book. So booking will start Friday, September 6 for Pearl Castaway Club members. They will get through the weekend to make their decisions. And then on Monday, September 9, Platinum Castaway Club members can start booking Golden Oaks. Also on September 9, Gold Castaway Club members on September 10, Silver Castaway Club members on Wednesday, September 11. And then we get DVC members and adventure insiders. So those of you who have done adventures by Disney before, also on Wednesday, September 11. And finally, it will open on sale to the general public for on Thursday, September 12. These are itineraries out through April of 2026. I believe it is on the destiny. I can't remember if it's April or May. But they have released all the itineraries out to align Erica. We can look out through May, May of 2026 on the destiny. So basically they have layered the destiny in for the 2025 2026 season with her maiden voyage due in November 20, misremembering. November 20 is her maiden void. [00:05:36] Speaker C: Is that right? [00:05:37] Speaker A: Yeah. November 20. [00:05:39] Speaker C: Yes. November 20 is the maiden. November 24 is the sailing over Thanksgiving. And then November 28 is that DVC sailing that doesn't show up on this website but shows up if you got an email from DVC, which I did today. [00:05:55] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:05:55] Speaker B: So let's, let's talk about, let's not forget one other category that I don't think was mentioned in that graphic you just put up. But also club 33 members. I don't know if we have any 33 member friends might be listening. They also get to book on platinum day. [00:06:11] Speaker C: Oh, they do. Along with Golden Oak. [00:06:12] Speaker B: They do. Along with golden Oak. It has to be done by phone. So if you're Golden Oak and club 33 but not platinum, then that has to be done by phone. [00:06:24] Speaker C: All right. Well, some of us can just like dream about the day when they could be Golden Oaks members or Golden Oaks residents or club 33 members. [00:06:37] Speaker A: Well, let's do this. I want to talk first about sort of the itineraries overall. And then we can dig into some of these special sailings. And I think it'll be helpful for folks to see pricing just so everyone knows out there as you're watching kind of the screen scroll. Bye. I've narrowed this down to the destiny only. It's 41 cruises that have been loaded in. The destiny, of course, is doing four and five night sailings out of Fort Lauderdale. The pricing you'll see is for double occupancy. Two guests. That obviously goes up as you add the third, fourth, I think some room's fifth guest. But these are the double occupancy prices. Have some comments on the pricing at the end. But let's just talk about the facts here so far. What youre going to see on the screen here are four night bahamian sailings from Fort Lauderdale that will stop at Lookout and Castaway. Another set that will stop at Nassau lookout Key, a four night sailing thats only going to Disneys. Castaway key, thats a one and done sailing there. And then some sailings are going to Cozumel and Castaway Nassau and lookout cast away and look out again. So it's western Caribbean with Cozumel Nassau stops, some that aren't stopping anywhere except the private islands. And then one that's only going to cast away in four days. I want to go check that one out here in a second. But that's kind of the itinerary schedule that they're on. Anything surprising for you here, Karen or Sam? I mean, we knew they were going to be four and five night cruises, and we knew they were going to be out of Fort Lauderdale, so this wasn't particularly shocking to me. [00:08:11] Speaker B: I think that's about where they can go right in that length of time. Cozumel is probably the furthest that they're going to be able to travel in most cases. And I was also taking a look at it. It seems like they're leaning more towards five nights just during this timeframe. I forgot the exact ratio, but I think I counted 25 night itineraries, so there's a bit more of those than the four nights. And I think they look great. I love kind of a five night frame, and who wouldn't want to do the. What are we calling it? It's not the double dip, but we're. [00:08:57] Speaker C: You know. You know, one thing I noticed is I believe, and I hope I'm not wrong on this, but I believe everything that is happening in 2025 on the destiny goes to both lookout key and castaway and doesn't really go to NASA at all. So the first, like, month and, you know, month and ten days or what or whatnot of sailing on the destiny is really private island heavy. [00:09:26] Speaker A: Yeah. And the first five night is a DVC sailing. The first two are four nighters. Yeah. [00:09:31] Speaker C: No, no, I know. I know that. I'm saying the five night and four night sailings, all the five night and four night sailings for all of the November and December sailings, I didn't see a single one that actually stops at Nassau. All of them, from what I could tell. Unless, I mean, it's possible I missed one, but all the ones that I looked at when I was looking through are going to look out and cast away and not going to NASA, which. [00:09:57] Speaker B: Has been with 2025. [00:09:59] Speaker C: Yeah, for 2025. It's not. Not until 2026 that they start moving to going to NASA. And I wonder if that's because they've already got, you know, sailings on, like the Disney dream, for example, and other. And. And the wish. And they've got sort of Nassau, their. Whatever. Their dock is at Nassau, kind of full with the other ships, whereas they have now the capacity at lookout and castaway because they have two private islands. So I'm just. I'm just guessing as to that, but. Or maybe it's because they really want to hype up this ship and they know that selling sailings to lookout and Castaway are going to be easier, probably, than sailings to Nassau. [00:10:41] Speaker A: So they have a couple here in December of 2025 for Nassau. [00:10:44] Speaker C: Oh, do they? [00:10:45] Speaker A: Okay, yeah, right here. This four night bohemian NASA December 3 through 7th and December 26 through 30th are going to stop at Nassau. [00:10:54] Speaker C: But only two, maybe. Yeah, yeah. [00:10:57] Speaker A: I mean, we can scroll through. We should scroll through. Oh, right. [00:10:59] Speaker B: It's just these first two. I missed those. So the first, the third, and the December 26 dates. [00:11:07] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:11:08] Speaker A: And then they've got. The other ones are coming in January of January, 2026, the 12th, February, March, April. Yeah. And then to Karen, to your point, there was. It looked like I did the count. It was like 16 cruises or four nights. 24 are five night cruises. And then there's the. The main voyage, of course, the 1717 four nighters to 24 five nighters. So, yes, definitely leaning well and tinfoil mouth here. [00:11:32] Speaker B: Uh, you know, did the math. And he's probably right that it's two five nights for every one fortnight to get that 14 day cycle. That makes a lot of sense, actually. [00:11:42] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:11:44] Speaker A: So, yeah, so let's go to math. [00:11:46] Speaker C: Better than we know how to math, I guess. [00:11:49] Speaker A: Let's talk about a few of these, the special itineraries up front, because there's going to be a lot of interest in those. So, of course, the first one is the main voyage. It's going to be a four night bahamian cruise out of Fort Lauderdale, which we knew. I think the surprising thing here for me is the pricing. So you'll see on the screen here inside stateroom 3598, going up to concierge. $9,000 for a four night cruise. So about $1,000 a night or a little less on an inside cabin, and then about $2,000 a night, a little bit more on a concierge. That's going to be entry level, family concierge. That's not going to be a one bedroom or anything like that. I did some math, some rough math earlier today, and it looks to be about $899 a night on this inside cabin. And when I compared it to the opening day prices on the seven night treasure, it was about $1,250 a night, call it for that sailing. So the prices, it's come down, recognizing that it's about time of year premiums, all of that sort of stuff. I don't know. Karen, what do you I don't. None of these cruises are giving me, like, insane sticker shock, which is kind of nice to see for once. [00:13:04] Speaker B: So, yeah, I think they're well positioned. I think the pricing on the maiden is, is a sweet spot, actually, for those that really get excited about being first on. I think it's a pretty, pretty darn good price, actually. And if you don't care about being on the maiden voyage, I saw some cruises starting at about $2,300. I think if you scroll down or scroll up at, like, you know, later into the early winter, and I was like, wow, you know, that on a brand new ship to get on for four nights for, you know, that, that low, low, I think, is really, really nice. So I think. I think these are going to be popular itineraries. [00:13:53] Speaker C: Yeah, I think you're right. Like, some of those January ones are definitely lower prices than December ones. You know, they. I would. I will note they haven't put anything on here that indicates whether or not these things are going to be very maritime cruises. So that is TBD, I would say. And I would. I would generally say it's not. Not guaranteed based on what we've seen with the treasure. Right. So the treasure is in a little bit of a different scenario, though. The treasurer's first sailing, it's maiden voyage is Christmas week, so it makes sense that they wouldn't do, like, a fully themed, very maritime cruise. And. But we are expecting that there will be some Christmas decorations. This is a little bit different because they're going to be sailing for part of November and all of December, so they could get in, you know, four to five weeks of very maritime sailings. But they don't say on the website that these are very maritime sailing. So I would put it out there and say there's no guarantee these will be very maritime sailings, but I would be surprised if they didn't at least do them as, you know, a hint of very married time, if not the full shebang. And when I say that, would be absolutely shocked. Yeah. [00:15:04] Speaker B: And they're not fully decked out. They may not have all the activities going. [00:15:08] Speaker C: Exactly. [00:15:09] Speaker B: But I think the decor will all be in place for sure. [00:15:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:15] Speaker A: Yeah. So here's some of those. Here's some of those less expensive sailings of January 4 at $2,300 starting at $2,300 for an inside stateroom concierge is, like, practically a bargain on that cruise. These are four nighters. And then you've got another 1. January 8 at 2300, January 22. Sam, birthday cruise for me, $2200, $2,200 on the destiny. Yeah. So these four nighters here that overlap. [00:15:42] Speaker C: With one of those holiday weekends, there's MLK weekend, right? Am I remembering that correctly? [00:15:49] Speaker A: I'm guessing it does not if it's that inexpensive, but yeah. [00:15:53] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:53] Speaker A: So, I mean, some good prices. The only one that seems a little bit but out of the norm here is the New year's Eve crew. I scrolled past it in the beginning because it was a stark juxtaposition here to the main voyage. It jumps up to 655, $6,555 for an inside cabin over New Year's Eve. So that one is not inexpensive, but the others, they're not giving me a lot of heartburn here for a four night or a five night cruise. This five night in December of 2025 is $3,500 for an inside stateroom. So that, I mean, these are pretty reasonable Disney prices. They're reminding me of what sort of used to pay to go on a Disney cruise. So these are pretty nice. Yeah. [00:16:40] Speaker B: The other, I just have to believe that the premium on a maiden voyage on a new ship is diminishing over time. The witch was long anticipated. There hadn't been a new ship for so long and it was a new class and there was just a lot of hype and there was also a lot of pent up travel demand. There was still Covid situation happening. And I think now that the pace of these new ships coming out, they can't, they can't sell it at that super high premium anymore. It's also not summer and it's not Christmas. So I think, you know, I think these prices make sense. [00:17:28] Speaker A: Yeah, I agree. The other special sailing, of course. So the next sailing right after the maiden is Thanksgiving. It is also a four night cruise. It has an identical itinerary to the maiden voyage. So they're going to lookout, Cay and castaway, key sea days. No stop in Nassau. I will say the pricing is, is largely comparable between the two cruises currently. So it sets you up for a nice little back to back. You can get eight nights on the destiny on a back to back heading into Thanksgiving. And at least for us, the price for an ocean view going back to back is probably about 2000, $2,500 less than doing the seven night treasure over Christmas this year. So that's a pretty nice little setup there if you want to do kind of a holiday cruise on the Destiny. Yeah, I'm pretty excited about that cruise and the back to back potential for that. I don't know, sam, are you. Are you still with me? Are we booking back to back or what do we do? [00:18:23] Speaker C: So I am still with you. I have to apologize for being a little bit distracted. I can get. My text messages are blown up from Nathan asking me where some things are. And I'm like, honey, we're in the middle of a live show. I can't keep responding to you. So I'm sorry again for being a little distracted. But no, I'm super excited for this prospect. I think we have been on the fence about the destiny, given the timing. We said that if it was going to be Thanksgiving, that really, there was no question we would book it unless it was cost prohibitive. But then when they announced the 20th was the first sailing, that made us like, oh, are we going to do this? Does this work? And so, yeah, I think we can make it work. We've been trying to figure out really the deciding factor was price, as I mentioned, but also Nathan's school schedule and figuring out, like, could we pull him? We'd have to pull him out for. I think it's. I think we figured out it's like five or six days. I can't remember, Brian. Six days. [00:19:26] Speaker A: Like five and a half days. Yeah. [00:19:28] Speaker C: Yeah, five and a half days. Because we don't have off the whole week of Thanksgiving for our district. We have just there. We have a half day on Wednesday and then we have Thursday Friday off. And so he's going to have to miss that week. But he's going to have to miss a couple more days, obviously, at the previous week if we do this maiden voyage. So I think, though, it makes sense if we're going to do it, we've got to book the back to back. I really do. Because four days is just. I mean, I don't know how you feel about this, Karen, but four days is just too short, especially for a new ship, because I don't know how I can possibly explore the ship fully. I mean, I know it's going to be the sister of the wish and the treasure. And so I will know where everything is, but it's got all these new spaces and I, you know, I got to spend more time with your own mini. I don't know. What do you think about that? [00:20:18] Speaker B: I always say the longer itinerary, the better. I love at minimum of five nights. And so, you know, with the maiden being four, if, you know, if. I think there's going to be a lot of people that are going to be booking that as the back to back. And I think it's going to be great because you said, like, I mean, just the new lounges, you know, I don't know that there's enough time on a fortnight to, you know, the shows, the lounges, the dining experiences. [00:20:47] Speaker C: Right. I mean, I want to see Hercules twice. I don't want to just see Hercules once and I want to go to lookout twice and cast away twice. Right. [00:20:57] Speaker B: We need the DCL. We need the duo. [00:21:00] Speaker C: The double dip. [00:21:02] Speaker B: The double duo dip. [00:21:03] Speaker C: Double duo dip. That's what we're going to call it. The double duo dip. Yeah. I don't know. I feel like. I feel like that's what. If we're going to book this, that's what we're going to book. I'll be perfectly honest. And this is making me think it's doable. I will say I still think that we have mostly shifted back to sailing non concierge as much as we love sailing concierge, and we are sailing concierge for Alaska because we're bringing my mom along and we want to really, like, live it up. I do feel like the concierge prices are still just, I want to sell more often, and so if I'm choosing between sailing more often and sailing in concierge, I'm still going to. I'm going to choose sailing more often, with the exception of, you know, those, like, sort of a special, special cruise, like going to Alaska. [00:21:54] Speaker A: So. [00:21:54] Speaker B: So I'm leaning towards concierge on the maiden because I think I. It's gonna be just an empty nest cruise. [00:22:04] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, that's true. So that, that's gonna be an interesting thing. These cruises, if they don't fall on a holiday, they probably do tend to skew less kids. Right? Because you do. I mean, when we were on the maiden of the wish, we definitely. There were, like, two babies on the entire. On the entire ship. I, you know, so it's definitely skewed more adults or older kids. I think that the treasure might be a little bit different because it's over Christmas. So that will be sort of interesting to see. [00:22:39] Speaker A: Are you listening to our show? Sorry to everyone out there that I'm scrolling here. I'm trying to find so someone has asked in the chat about the wish pricing in comparison to comparison to this. And so I'm trying to find a June sailing of the destiny here so I can give the actual comparison. Or there are no June. Yeah, there won't be June. [00:23:57] Speaker C: It's only through May. It's only, yeah. [00:24:00] Speaker A: And I'm not even seeing any May. Oh, there are some may sailings. Well, there are some May. [00:24:03] Speaker C: They go through the end of May. [00:24:04] Speaker A: Yeah. To give you some comparisons, let me go with like a, this is a spring break week here. This, these two cruises here are spring break weeks, although I'd love to find, yeah, these are five nights. So these April, March, late March, early April cruises here, spring break weeks today to give the comparison, uh, the opening day price for an inside stateroom on the five night maiden voyage of the wish was $5,769. Now, we've all forgotten that price because we got 50% off when they moved the sailing, but it was $5,800 as compared to 4600, 3500. Like these are, these are spring break weeks in some places. Concierge, by the way, on the wish went for $9,439 opening day. And so it is in some cases less than that here and in some cases slightly more. So this is more in line with wish pricing and even less than wish pricing for some of these five night sailings from a main voyage standpoint. [00:24:59] Speaker B: So that's many years later from when we were booking the wish. And generally, prices have gone up for travel tremendously. So, I mean, I think, again, I think that things are settling in. Prices are settling in for Disney. They've reached a sweet spot. Let's see how it goes this week. But it's reached a sweet spot for. [00:25:23] Speaker A: Those interested, there is a third cruise here that comes. So it goes maiden, Thanksgiving. Those are two four night cruises. Then we mentioned earlier in the show, there is a five night that comes right after the Thanksgiving cruise. The Thanksgiving cruise disembarks on that Black Friday, I believe. That's right, Black Friday. And then the DVC cruise will happen. So that is a DVC charter or first wave sailing. It is not a member cruise. We always want to reinforce that the member cruises come with all of these special gifts and things. There are gifts given on some of these charter sailings or the first wave sailings, but there's not the every night in the stateroom kind of gifts. It will be a five night cruise. So the third sailing, the points chart is not yet available for that cruise. So we don't know what it will cost. Typically for the first wave sailings, if they keep doing what they've done before, they will require a member to book that cruise with at least one member of the sailing party booked on points. The tip we always give is if you're sailing with three people in the stateroom or four people in the stateroom, use the points on the third or fourth guest because they come in at a much cheaper point on the price point chart. If you're sailing two people, you're kind of out of luck. That's the most expensive points chart options. Those cruises will go on sale. Sam, do you remember that date off the top of your head? [00:26:45] Speaker C: Sorry, what was the question? [00:26:46] Speaker A: The cruises for the DVC member cruise goes on. [00:26:50] Speaker C: It's October. I have it right here. It goes on sale on October 23 at 08:00 a.m. eastern. So it's a Wednesday, October Eastern. And to book that you have to call member services directly. And that's when you can't book through a travel agent. Holly actually noted in the comments or mentioned pretty early on in the show, Brian, that we were that the points chart is not out. I think it was Holly that mentioned it and that the points chart probably won't come out until after bookings, of course, open for cash sales for these other itineraries. And I think that I'm pretty sure that's true for those who are interested in the DVC sailing. I would go look back at the DVC first wave sailing on that happened on the wish that was a three night. So it won't give you the exact amount of points, but it'll give you at least a ballpark idea of how many points there it cost for a three night sailing. And so then add 25% to that is what I would say. And like I said, you'll get a ballpark. And so that, yeah, we won't know that though, by this Friday or by the. By the 12th. So it'll be another, that's a month and ten days after, basically, for booking that DVC sailing, what I will say is the benefit of one of those DVC sailings, which they're now calling, as we mentioned, first wave sailings we used, we previously called it a DVC charter because that's what they called it on the wish. But then on the magic, when they did the lookout key sailing, they started calling them first wave sailings. And while they're not member cruises, there will be typically some DVC member swag given out, and there is some sort of special guest, special performances. So if that's one of the things that you're interested in, you really want to be looking at the maiden voyage or the DVC first wave sailing. Those are going to have the most of those, like, special guests, special appearances, special swag type of experiences. Now, the rest of the inaugural season for the destiny will probably have some special merchandise available. And the castaway club gifts might be specifically themed, inaugural season, but they might not be. And again, most of those things are going to be an extra cost, like, for merchandise, but, yeah, and I doubt there will be a lot of special performances, things like that. But anyway, like I said, you have to book directly, and probably one guest will be required to book on points. [00:29:32] Speaker A: Yep. Yep. [00:29:34] Speaker C: Can we answer some other questions? Brian, what are you thinking? [00:29:38] Speaker A: Yeah, I do think we have some other questions to answer, for sure. Let's see. I wanted to see here. I wanted to pull up UCL. Dan is asking, will the 2026, January, and February 5 sailings be Marvel Day at sea? We have no idea, but it would be missing a sure bet for the heroes and villains ship to not have Marvel Day at sea on it. Given the amount of Marvel theming. [00:29:59] Speaker C: I'm going to say no. [00:30:01] Speaker B: I'm going to say no also. [00:30:03] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. I don't think they don't have to. Right. So the Marvel day at sea is extra. Marvel Day at sea means they do the hero heroes unite deck party. They do extra appearances by Marvel characters. They do special menus, like, they do special stuff for Marvel Day at sea. And they charge a premium for those sailings if they're not listed on here. I'm gonna. I'm gonna venture and say they're not going to and they don't have to. Yes. This is a heavily marveled themed ship, but I actually think that it means it's more likely if they're going to do marvel day at sea, they do it on a different ship. What's your thinking, Karen? [00:30:41] Speaker B: I agree. I think that they use the marble day to attract folks onto the sailings that are not otherwise as popular and they won't need it on the destiny. [00:30:55] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah. All right. [00:30:58] Speaker A: Well, there you have it. That's our predictions. I want to know. Tinfoil mouse ears is out there watching CT. What's your prediction? And I will put it up on the screen here. All right, so a couple of other questions we had. Karen, Tracy's wanting your thoughts on a sellout like the wish or more like the treasure. [00:31:17] Speaker C: This is a great question. [00:31:18] Speaker A: What do you think? [00:31:20] Speaker B: I think it's going to be closer to the wish than to the treasure, but not quite as crazy as the wish. But when we, when the wish came out, we didn't have pearl. Right. That came out. [00:31:35] Speaker C: Correct. [00:31:36] Speaker A: Which was like super platinum. Yeah. Like it is like the platinum. [00:31:42] Speaker B: So I don't know if that's going to impact things, but in terms of, for example, silver being able to get in on it, but I think. I think that we will see it go through silver, that some silver folks will get on and maybe, you know, and then it'll be. But it'll be slim pickings by then. That's my prediction. [00:32:03] Speaker C: Yeah. Yeah, I'm with you, Erin. I think that's. I think it won't be quite as crazy as the wish, but I don't think it will be as slow as the treasure. And I do think, like, if you're gold or silver and you really want to get on, you'll probably be able to get on if you book that first day. And if you're completely flexible on what your room category is, if you're really picky about your room category, if you're nothing, pearl or platinum, you might have a harder time. Gold might not have as hard of a time. I'm not sure. [00:32:34] Speaker A: I think the price will drive this a lot, but I also think there's the timing. I think the Thanksgiving cruise may sell out before the main voyage. If I'm perfectly honest, that's going to align up with time off. Yeah, I totally agree with that point of view. But if you want to experience a maiden voyage on Disney cruise line, and this is kind of the least expensive one we've seen so far, so I do think it will go quickly. I think the treasure had the combination of sticker shock on the price tag and also sailing at Christmas time, which has really driven some of the problems with getting it sold out. So that may, I want to say problems. I don't know that it's a problem. I think Disney Cruise line probably started into profit after 50% of that thing was sold. So I don't think it's a problem for them at all. [00:33:20] Speaker C: The other thing is the wish was first of her class, and that may have also driven demand up higher than treasure or destiny. And so that might have been sort of even more inflated demand than they would sort of normally have. [00:33:35] Speaker A: Yeah. CT asks a really good question. What is the deposit requirement for a maiden voyage? There's some folks here, Karen, saying 20%, and I know it's non refundable, but do you remember off the top of the. [00:33:46] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Let me go through the terms. So it's a 20% deposit and it must be paid by midnight, 11:59 p.m. technically on the day that you book. So it will not hold any longer than midnight on the booking day. No three day hold, no one day hold, no date changes are allowed. Once you book, you are locked in and you have to actually cancel and rebook. But the deposit is non refundable. So once you put that 20% down, you are absolutely locked in. You cannot move it to another date. You can't cancel and rebook. Now, if you're going to get the Disney cruise line vacation protection plan, that has to be paid at the time of booking. So for those of you who may be used to putting that on your reservation but not paying it until final, this is a different policy. It's similar to the policy for concierge bookings now. So if you book anything for concierge and you get the Disney travel protection, it needs to be paid at the time of booking, although the system won't show you that, and I think it's probably still not going to show you that. So they're probably going to come back to you and say you owe it. So just don't be surprised if that happens. And there are no discounts, no placeholders, future cruise credit cannot be used. So that's the common terms for the maiden voyages? [00:35:19] Speaker C: Yeah. Basically every restriction that they could possibly put in place for like, blackout dates and things like that are in place for a maiden voyage. It was the same with the wish, it was the same with the treasure. So it's not. It shouldn't be super surprising to folks. The only, obviously, hiccup with the wish was. And everyone ended up getting a future cruise credit because they moved the sailing. So Disney can make changes, but you can't make changes. So just know that going in, if you're going to book, you are locked in, as Karen said. I mean, you can cancel, but you lose your money, basically. [00:35:53] Speaker B: You'll just lose your money. So you need travel insurance. Disney's travel insurance will give you a future cruise credit. If you're just canceling because you, you know, have a hangnail or decide that you don't want to watch Hercules and want to go on another, if you have, you know, medical reason, you can file a claim or talk to us about more affordable travel insurance options. And then the other thing that I want to point out, because I've seen some questions out of there on social media about using the place, using placeholders and the onboard discounts. As we just said, you can't use it on the maiden. But there's also 12347 other dates that are blocked out on the destiny already. So that includes November 24, which is the Thanksgiving sailing, December 21, December 26, and December 30. So everything through the holiday and New Year's. And then they have three spring sailings, breakdowns blocked out March 28, April 2, and April 6 out on the Destiny for spring break. And there's similar blackout dates actually on the wish treasure, even the wonder, the fantasy, and the dream, only the magic doesn't have anything blocked out for spring break. [00:37:14] Speaker C: Oh, interesting. Interesting. Yeah. [00:37:16] Speaker B: So just keep that in mind if you're planning on using a placeholder. [00:37:19] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Be, yeah. Be aware. You may not be able to use that placeholder, so don't count on it. Unless you've checked on the website and made sure that the dates actually work. Or contact your travel agent and they can tell you what. Exactly what will work and doesn't work. Okay, so we've got a couple more comments that Brian starred. Brian, we've got a comment. Hold on. [00:37:42] Speaker A: I gotta put up. I gotta put up cts. So he says that his prediction, tinfoil mouse here is Marvel DHC, won't happen until after the next wave of ships is going and only in the off season time. [00:37:52] Speaker C: So, yeah, I'm with you. Yeah, he knows. He knows what he's talking about. He agrees with me and Karen. Sorry, Brian, you're just. [00:37:59] Speaker A: I don't know. It seems crazy to me that you have this ship that sticked out for Marvel and you don't put a marvel day at sea on it. [00:38:06] Speaker C: No, but that's exactly why. Right. [00:38:07] Speaker B: Every day is Marvel Day. At sea. [00:38:08] Speaker C: Yeah. Every day is Marvel Day. They'll do it. Yeah. I mean, it might be 2027 that we see them do marvel day at sea again and again. I think it would be on, like, the dream or the magic or something. Won't be on. It won't be on the destiny. So Samara's question. Yeah, so, Samara. Yes. You would stay at a. You would stay at a hotel in Fort Lauderdale or I guess in Miami. If you're flying into Miami, that's about an hour away from Port Everglades. So it's not a bad option. Except for the fact that you need transportation, obviously, to the port. From Miami if you're staying. If you're flying into Miami. Yeah. So you'd stay in, say, in Fort Lauderdale, somewhere near the port and have a nice night in Fort Lauderdale because you don't come in the day of the cruise ever. Pro tip. Thank you. Yeah, pro tip. You don't. You don't count on coming in. You don't. I mean, if you live in Fort Lauderdale. Okay. That's one exception. You, if you live in, within a couple. Within a one or two hour drive distance from the port, absolutely. You can come in the morning of. But if you live airplane distance, you do not come in the morning of. Yeah, but, you know, a lot of. [00:39:16] Speaker B: Folks just have this mindset of Disney parks with a Disney cruise. And, you know, it might be a new idea to separate those things that, John, we still have folks that, you know, are doing a Disney park before or after you most of the time. We always say do the park first, then do the cruise. In this case, it might be better to go ahead and do the cruise first and then take the bright line up and do your park trip. So, you know, just so that you don't have to worry about getting down. Yeah, you know, but you can do that. Just take the bright line down, get down to Fort Lauderdale, but still do it a day early. Don't try to get down from Orlando unless you're prepared to. You know, you just never know. [00:40:01] Speaker C: Just never know in Florida traffic. Exactly. I'm with you, Karen. I do. Yeah. You absolutely can pair a Fort Lauderdale cruise with a parks vacation. You just need a night in between so that you can make sure you transit. [00:40:15] Speaker A: So, Sam, CT has summarized your guidance nicely and in a way that I can appreciate. Come on, son. You can't fly in and sail on the same day. [00:40:21] Speaker C: That's right. That is exactly right. By the way, Brian, tinfoil mouse ears is also loving your tabs because he's noticing that you have. [00:40:30] Speaker A: Yes, I saw. Yes, I do. I do. All right, so I've thrown up one more time just to review the dates that you need to keep in mind. So if you're interested in booking the main voyage or any of these cruises, first you can head over to disneycruise dot disneygo.com to see all the itineraries and booking dates and all that sort of stuff. But to remind folks, the bookings will open on this Friday, September 6 for Pearl Castaway Club members, and then we'll stack out starting on Monday, September 9 for platinum, Tuesday, September 10 for gold, Wednesday, September 11 for silver, and then open to the general public on Thursday, September 12. All those policies that Karen mentioned, you can also find on the website under this tab around special booking dates. So keep those in mind. If you want a book, Karen, you got to tell people how they can find you because I know we've got Kaylee all queued up to help us out on Friday. [00:41:29] Speaker B: So head over to mypathonwinding.com dclduo. You can also, if you're in the DCLduo group on Facebook, I'll be posting a link for a quote request because we like to help our people out. And, you know, if you're anything but Perl, we are happy to get you a quote on Perl booking day to get you a better idea of what pricing is like. Or if you're silver, we can get to you on gold because remember that prices can and likely will change, especially for these very popular sailings. So the price that we see today, the price that we see on opening day may change. Disney has dynamic pricing, which means that as the ship fills, the prices tend to go up. So, but we're happy to do that. So we'll have a booking form out so you can, you know, just say what you have in mind and somebody on our team will reach out to you to get you some more information about how to proceed. [00:42:29] Speaker C: Awesome. And if you already have bookings, with my path unwinding, then you can also just reach out directly to whoever your agent is and let them know what you're wanting to book and have them, you know, tee it up as we have, as Brian mentioned, we've sort of already done that to say, hey, we want pricing on this and this, and we're probably going to be pulling that trigger on Friday. So. [00:42:50] Speaker B: Absolutely. And we'll be sending out an email blast probably tomorrow to all of our clients and to everybody that's, you know, on our email list, from the various things that we've done over the time that has some of that same information. Disney, as of an hour or two ago, has not put out like a nice, pretty PDF like they normally do. That has just like all the booking. So I'm hoping that it'll come out tonight or early putting that in the email, but we can get that to you just so that you can have an easy visual of, you know, all the dates available. But we work as a team and so we will make sure to, you know, get you in as early as possible. We are up super early on new booking dates online opens super early and sometimes you don't exactly know when it's going to open up. So we just kind of stock the site like 06:00 a.m. onwards to make sure that we get in there as soon as possible. [00:43:46] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm usually laying in bed with my phone and waiting for Kaylee's text message to let me know how much money I have to set aside for these. These. Fantastic. But we will definitely be hoping on Friday. Fingers crossed for some good luck for all those Pearl castaway club members out there.
