[00:00:00] Speaker A: Anyways, all of the math I think tallies up where you're going to have a pretty equivalent price if you can choose the right weekend and find a cruise that's going to be around that $3,000 price point. But now you're talking about an experience that's going to be much more full and much more all inclusive feeling. And I, I love Disney parks, but I, I'm more in love with Disney Cru.

Lots of information coming out. I know Sam wants to talk about that, but before we get there, Sam, introduce our guests and I will bring her on screen while we while you're doing that.
[00:01:33] Speaker C: I'm super excited to bring first time guest to our show, Alyssa, also known as Dishingondisney on Instagram. Welcome to the show, Alyssa.
[00:01:45] Speaker B: Hi.
[00:01:45] Speaker A: Hi Brian. Hi Sam. Thank you for having me.
[00:01:47] Speaker B: Great to have you.
[00:01:48] Speaker D: Great to have you.
[00:01:49] Speaker C: We're super excited to have you. We got to give shout outs right now.
We know that our friends with the DCL magazine are on the Disney Wish right now reporting on all things Disney Believe.
We also know that our friend Emily from We Do Travel Right, also known as We Do Disney Right is down at Walt Disney World because she is going to be attending the Walt Disney World Believe reveal event tomorrow. So we've got lots of friends in Florida or down in the Bahamas dealing with Believe stuff. And we are before we talk about our today's show topic which is Halloween on the High Seas with Alyssa as she just returned from a Halloween on the high seas sailing just like a week and a half ago, two weeks ago, something like that. But we gotta talk. I know we're gonna have a whole show tomorrow about the Believe reveal stuff, just Brian and I. It's gonna be a shorter show. Gonna give our reactions to all of the reveals that will be announced by Disney Tomorrow at 4:30pm Eastern, 1:30pm Pacific. We will be live at 5pm Pacific, 8pm Eastern tomorrow. So you get two. Two days in a row of the duo.
But we have to talk about what's been revealed thus far. I know, Alyssa. I know you've been watching as we have with bated breath to see everything that's being revealed.
[00:03:12] Speaker B: Hey, Sam, can I give folks a preview of what they can expect to see tomorrow? Because we have yet once again developed some graphics, interactive graphics for the show tomorrow night where we will be tracking all the returns. If you have not checked out Instagram recently, Sam had a fun story playing Steve Kornacki at the Big board. So this is our big board. And as. As they announce things will be, we'll be going over them one by one. But yeah, Sam, we can actually do a little bit of real time here. So, you know, some things that have been announced.
So, like, what are we calling now based on all the scavenger hunt stuff?
[00:03:48] Speaker C: Okay, so I want to. I'm going to ask Alyssa what she thinks. Alyssa, I think that yesterday they revealed these, like, three drinks, and they made people go to three different bars for these specific drinks. So they made them all go to specific locations.
I think that these places that they went and the drinks that they got are not just reminiscent of some theming on the ship. I think they are specifically themed to those venues that translate from the wish to the believe. What do you think?
[00:04:21] Speaker A: So what you're saying is, like, the venue, like the space on the ship, it's going to be where that drink will be served later? I think that might be correct for sure. I think that the theme of that venue is going to look different, though. And that's where, like, the clue of the drink comes into play is, you know, like the. The queen's goblet or it looked like a Little Mermaid drink. Like, I think that that's giving us hints as to what we're going to see in that space. But I think you're probably correct because they were directing people to specific areas where they could only get those drinks in those particular locations. So, yes, I think you're probably spot on with that.
[00:04:53] Speaker C: Yeah. Now, I do think other clues that they've released more. More of the stuff they've revealed today, which are just more generic hints. I don't know that we can specifically call out locations, but I'M going to say, based on what we saw today, I'm going to say, I'm calling it that the bayou is a Snow White slash evil Queen themed space. So, I mean, if you want to put that on the map. That was one of our predictions from the get go, Brian. But I think that that main open bar space, it has Snow white theming.
I also think the piano bar is going to be Little Mermaid, and that's based on exactly that drink you mentioned. It's a shell. And then it had like a. Like lettuce, but it looked like Ariel's hair. It was like a piece of red, like cabbage or lettuce.
So, yeah, I'm calling the piano bar for the Little Mermaid and then the third venue, and it had that bubble
[00:05:46] Speaker A: on it too, like that big bubble.
So I feel like it's underwater.
[00:05:51] Speaker C: Underwater, right. Yeah. And then the third one, that was yesterday, that was that they were sent to a bar space was the. The sports pub. Right, the sports bar.
I think that when we're looking at that, I thought the clue was pointing to Pinocchio.
Now, and the reason I say that is because the. One of the porthole clues that led people to that bar was Jiminy Cricket. And then there was this drink in a fishbowl that reminded me of Cleo's fishbowl. Other people have been predicting saying that they think that that means something else. I'm not sure. I. I can't remember what the front runner was for other. Other people's predictions, but. Alyssa, did you think differently? I'm thinking. I'm thinking Pinocchio.
[00:06:36] Speaker A: I think Pinocchio just because of the Jiminy Cricket clue. Otherwise I was kind of lost on that. I don't think I have a good prediction beyond, like the clue that led them there. So. Yeah, well, time will tell. We'll know very soon.
[00:06:47] Speaker C: Okay, well, I'm going to put that in there, Brian, for Pinocchio. I don't know if you're spelling Pinocchio correctly.
[00:06:52] Speaker B: No, I'm not. I'm missing a C. I can't see it.
[00:06:54] Speaker C: It's too small. It's two Cs. Yeah, two Cs. One eight I O. Yeah.
[00:06:59] Speaker B: So you're calling that for what exactly?
[00:07:01] Speaker C: Again, I'm calling that for the sports bar, the pub.
[00:07:04] Speaker A: All right.
[00:07:06] Speaker C: Yeah. Okay. The only other space that I think we can definitively call, and I don't know if you all agree with me, I think we can call the Sweet Shop for inside out, but specifically inside out too, because they gave people that treat that was like orange with chocolate inside, that clearly was Anxiety's head and hair.
So obviously it's inside out, but inside out too. And it was interesting because the sweet shop on the Wish is already an inside out sweet shop. What do you guys think?
[00:07:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I think I. The more I see announcements, the more I think we're seeing some recycling happening here for some of the big venues. So, like, I. I'm going to call based on the. It's. It's the Oaken theming. Frozen will be back as the show rotational dining, which upsets me to no end because every ship has a unique rotational dining with a show.
And we're getting frozen again. And people who've listened to this show long enough know my feelings about how much froz there is in the world right now. So I'm really disappointed. It was such an opportunity to do a luau.
[00:08:24] Speaker C: Like, Like, I don't think we can. I don't think we can call it yet, but I think you're right.
[00:08:30] Speaker B: I don't know. I don't know. Our. Our sponsor is in the chat saying, you're being polite, right?
I'm trying. Like, I am not. I am not excited to see, like, because I think Haunted Mansion will be back, you know.
[00:08:44] Speaker C: Okay, so. So I, I think Haunted Mansion will be back too. But I think we're going to have a Christmas overlay on Haunted Mansion. That's what I'm predicting on. And actually our friends at DCL magazine, Danny, I think, was also posting about this. I really think that we could get a Haunted Mansion holiday on this ship because it just means. Because we know in the teaser video there was that Nightmare before Christmas theming. And so I feel like. Yeah, that's got to be.
Oh, I see in the chat Ashley is saying Frozen two. Yeah, I mean, or Frozen three. Because Frozen three is coming. And Tracy's pointing out as well.
[00:09:22] Speaker B: Did we hear from someone on board today? It's going to be called Oakens. And so, like, is. I can't remember, is Oaken make an appearance in Frozen 2?
[00:09:30] Speaker C: I don't know.
[00:09:31] Speaker B: Yeah, I don't know because the first. The first ship, it's frozen. But the. Was it this. The show is basically Oaken, right? It's Oaken and Kristoff.
[00:09:41] Speaker C: It's Oaken and Kristoff.
[00:09:43] Speaker B: I feel like they're just going to recycle the show. They may call it something different, but I have a feeling it's just going to be the same show, the same food and like, just with a Different name. So, but, so you, so you think
[00:09:53] Speaker A: it's going to be the engagement party again? I don't think you're wrong that it could be frozen, but I can't see them doing the exact same engagement party.
[00:10:01] Speaker B: Well, I mean, they've, but they've recycled the tech shows in World of Marvel and they just get maybe a night two instead of a night one. Like, I, I do, I do think they kind of like, we're trying to maybe save on the imagineering here a little bit. Like, you know, so.
[00:10:15] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, no, I, I, I'm with, I'm with Alyssa though. I think, I think if we're gonna see if we're gonna have another Arendale restaurant or Oaken themed restaurant or whatever, based on the clues that were on board today, I think that, and I'm crossing my fingers as I had my toes as I say this, I think we would get a new show, but I also think that we should be prepared for a new show in Marvel. I, I think we're gonna get like something more in this.
I'm not saying like Doomsday. What I said on, on Instagram, I said doomsday. And somebody said, well, that's too dark. I don't mean like doomsday the character. I mean, like, I think we're gonna get like, with like whatever the hero characters are in Doomsday. I feel like we're gonna get something that's more like sort of updated. Right. Like, it seems like if they do. If they're leaning into Inside out too, if they're leaning into like Frozen two or Frozen three. Right. Like, I feel like we're gonna see updates, Marvel stuff. Yeah.
[00:11:13] Speaker B: Yeah. Well, maybe we'll see. What I'm a little unclear about this entire event is it feels like, I mean, just looking at the board and what we've been able to infer from, you know, the character sightings, the drinks, you know, all of that sort. So they're basically running from venue to venue. And there's some clue at the venue telling you this is what it's going to be. I'm like, the stuff that we don't kind of already know at this point is pretty minimal. Like Concierge Lounge, Theming Cove Cafe. Theming the shows.
[00:11:44] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:11:45] Speaker B: Are the big question mark. And really, I mean, we know it's, we know it's likely to be CZ Adventure. And then from there it's kind of, you know, we think encanto, but we don't know for sure. Right. And then I, I don't know what the third show might be if there isn't even. If there is even a third show because the ship may not be sailing.
[00:12:01] Speaker C: Well, no, there'll be a third show. I've been predicting. I think it's going to be tangled
[00:12:06] Speaker B: because I guess where I was headed with this.
I don't know what they're going to show in the theater that's going to tell anyone anything that they don't already know. Right. Like, so, like, like what's the point?
[00:12:17] Speaker C: You're going to confirm? Yeah, so what I. Okay, so I think they're just going to confer like, so whatever their presentation is that's going to be live streamed is going to confirm what theming belongs to, what venue. Right. Because I think right now, obviously, like, I've made a lot of like, calls based on the hints and others are making different calls based on the hints. Right. Like others are. I mean, there's still a ton of people who think that Encanto is going to be the dining venue. I don't think it's going to be the dining venue, but I've thought it's going to be a show for, I don't know, over a year maybe. Right. So like, I do think that there, there's still a lot out there. And we have no idea, for example, what Zootopia theming is going to fit with. Right. Or what Monsters Inc. Theming is going to fit. Right. We have a bunch of IP that they just have given little hints here and there that we just don't know. But again, I'm still, I'm still predicting Encanto Entangled and sees the adventure in the theater. I know there's a lot of people who are hoping for no Worlds of Marvel. A lot of people hoping for like a Star wars theming or something like that in sort of the. We'll call it the tech restaurant.
I think we're expecting. I'm expecting a Worlds of Marvel, but like I said, maybe just a different show. What are you thinking in that, in that vein? Alyssa?
[00:13:33] Speaker A: Oh, sorry. You went out for a second.
[00:13:35] Speaker C: Oh, I was saying what. Yeah, I can hear you. What are you thinking in terms of Worlds of Marvel? Are you gonna.
[00:13:42] Speaker A: I was one of the people hoping for sure that the venue that is frozen is not going to be frozen. I thought for the longest time that it would be Encanto. And now that we're getting the clues, I'm beginning to have to come to terms with the fact that that's probably not gonna be the case.
So I do agree that Encanto is probably gonna be in the show. And I think that's good consolation. I mean, it's an amazing, amazing musical theatrical production that they could create. So I think they're going to knock that out of the park for Worlds of Marvel. There's a part of me that was thinking today, like, maybe they will swing out of Worlds of Marvel and maybe pull Zootopia into that. Just because that would be an easy thing as far as the animations go. And if they really wanted to bring how Spider man comes out at the end, if they wanted to bring a character, they could.
That would be such a welcomed, pleasant surprise, if that's what happens. I'm not the hugest Marvel's fan and I do enjoy going to the restaurant, but it's not like I'm Die Hard into the movies. So telling you what movie it could be. If it is World of Marvel, I'm not the expert in that.
I'm gonna keep all my fingers crossed that we're gonna be pleasantly surprised tomorrow when it comes to that space.
[00:14:50] Speaker C: We'll see.
[00:14:51] Speaker B: I'm hoping for some surprises. I'm definitely hoping for some surprises because if this just doesn't feel like an announcement, it doesn't feel like that. There's, you know, and just sort of. It's slow rolling over a course of a couple of days. So.
[00:15:03] Speaker C: Yeah, you know what? You know what we really need? We really need more Muppets. And I imagine, and I know, I know that Alyssa and Brian are both going to agree with me. We just need more Muppets. And I know that we've got Emily in the chat saying, saying so as well. Muppets won an Emmy. Like they deserve. They deserve their own. They deserve more than the Midship Detective Agency on board the Dream and the Fantasy. No, no Shade, by the way, to the Midship Detective Agency. I love it. But they deserve more theming on board more ships and especially on the.
[00:15:37] Speaker A: Emily keeps them. Emily keeps saying this is the year of the Muppets. So she. She's right. Maybe it's going to come out on the believe. She's just gonna. It's gonna continue the consistent stride here.
[00:15:45] Speaker B: So what is. But what is Disney gonna do with the Simpsons? No, I'm just kidding.
[00:15:51] Speaker A: Is Simpson.
Is that categorized as Disney?
[00:15:54] Speaker C: No, they own 20th Century Fox.
[00:15:57] Speaker B: They bought 20th Century Fox out of here.
[00:15:59] Speaker C: Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. Isn't that crazy?
[00:16:01] Speaker B: That was the speculation.
[00:16:02] Speaker C: If that showed up on a Disney
[00:16:03] Speaker A: cruise ship, I am telling you, that
[00:16:06] Speaker B: would be a Problem that was the speculation for why Universal was ripping the Simpsons ride out is that Disney didn't. They didn't want to keep paying royalties to Disney for it. So.
[00:16:14] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:16:15] Speaker C: Yeah. All right.
[00:16:16] Speaker B: Well, it's.
[00:16:16] Speaker C: But they're keeping Marvel.
[00:16:17] Speaker B: Yeah. Let's shift gears. Oh, sorry. Someone did ask in the chat. Sam, can you remind folks about the live stream details for both the actual reveal and our show tomorrow?
[00:16:29] Speaker C: Yes. Okay, so livestream for Disney is going to be at 4:30pm Eastern and it's going to be on Disney Parks. So I believe you should go to the Disney Parks blog. They will have a link probably there at the very last minute. It might actually link you to YouTube. I'm not sure exactly what platform they'll be streaming on, but it's going to be through the Disney Parks blog, as I understand. So 4:30pm Eastern, that's also 1:30pm Pacific. If you're in some other time zone. I'm sorry, I can't figure it out.
[00:17:00] Speaker B: You have to do your own math.
[00:17:02] Speaker D: Sorry.
[00:17:02] Speaker C: Yeah, do your own math. So I always, I always. Even though we live on the West Coast, I do still gauge things off of Eastern time because most people probably who watch our show and are at Disney are on Eastern time. But anyway, then we will be on just a few hours later. We'll be on at 8pm Eastern. So 5pm Pacific and we'll be on YouTube. We'll put out a link. Well, actually, I'm going to post that tonight on our Instagram as a post, but then also I'll post it on our stories with a countdown for all of you die hards who want to watch us live. So, yeah, anyway, yeah, no problem. You're welcome. Blue size, blue skies and sunshine guaranteed. Which I still love your name. That's. It's literally the best. Okay, we gotta dive into Halloween on the high seas.
Alyssa, you are a Travel Advisor with WeDoTravel, right?
You are a Disney Cruise Line expert.
We want to talk Halloween high on this on the high seas.
What should someone know from the start when they're booking Halloween on the high seas on Disney Cruise Line?
[00:18:12] Speaker A: Okay, well, I will tell you that any themed cruise that you can take with Disney. And when I say themed, I mean Halloween on the high seas. I mean very merry time.
I mean Pixar day at sea, Marvel day at sea, anytime that you can capitalize on combining what I think is almost like two vacations into one, you're going to set yourself up for an amazing sort of rare opportunity. And if you're a Halloween girly. If your family's into Halloween, as I know a lot of families are, and you're not really into the horror side of Halloween, this is one of the best things I think you can take your family on because it is very immersive and you can embrace all of the fun of Halloween while enjoying the magic of Disney and everything that is high quality on a Disney Cruise Line. So I think it's something that families should really consider if they're like, huge Disney fans of the Disney parks. And if you've been on Disney cruises, this is just another way to experience it in a very, very different way. So I think the biggest thing to take away is that it will feel familiar but new at the same time. And a lot of families who are looking for new experiences with Disney, like, this is a great. This is a great option.
[00:19:19] Speaker C: Yeah. Now, Halloween on the high seas, sailings are offered typically in September and Octo October.
Not every sailing that happens in September or October is going to be designated Halloween on I see you. So you have to actually look at what the itinerary is designated as.
But, you know, Alyssa, you had this great hot take on Instagram that I have to dive into. I want to. I want to hit this, like, early because I think this is such a key piece of advice. You talked about on your. On a reel on your Instagram, on dishing on Disney about Mickey's not so Scary. I gotta say, I'm not a huge Halloween girly, but that's because I don't like anything scary.
So I can handle Disney Halloween. I would. You would never catch me at Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios. But tell me, or tell our audience how you would sort of compare and contrast the idea of going to Mickey's not so Scary, like taking a vacation just to go do Mickey's not so Scary party at the parks versus going on Halloween on the high Seas.
[00:20:26] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, I feel really, really strongly about this, and this is why I posted that video recently is I have a lot of clients who will plan quick trips down to Disney World or to Disneyland for Oogie Boogie Bash. And when they eventually get to the end of it, a common thing that they eventually say is, like, you know, it just added up fast. And it's because they, you know, at the very front of that type of trip planning, you're not thinking of the expenses that take place, like, while you're on the trip, as far as food goes and treats and souvenirs and all of that stuff.
And so. And Then lodging, of course. So what's beautiful, I think about the Halloween on the high seas cruises is the fact that they do take place in September and October and September and October notoriously are going to be less expensive times to sail with Disney Cruise Line. So it just takes a little bit of math to be to begin to calculate what all of this might look like as far as like the grand totals of the vacations go. But I'm a family of four, I've got two kids and my husband and we easily can and have spent 800 to $1,000 on tickets just to go to the party alone. So let's just say I'm just gonna say $900. That's probably like the average for a family of four just to get into the party at 4pm to stay until midnight. Right. So that's just one evening.
And then you're also of course you're gonna have to be paying for lodging somewhere. Most people stay on Disney property. If you're staying at a Disney Deluxe resort to be close to Magic Kingdom for example, that's easily gonna be another 500 or more a night. And obviously you can stay at the value resorts, those are gonna probably be around 200 a night. And people usually are going for two or more nights. I would say I found that people go two to three nights if they're just going down for the quick party. So again you're calculating the cost of everything and then you're calculating the cost of your meals and if you're doing table service meals, if you're doing character meals, all the quick service.
So when you do the math and you.
[00:22:12] Speaker C: Park tickets. Yeah, sorry, park ticket. And the park tickets in addition to the. Just the tickets for the party. Right, right.
[00:22:20] Speaker A: And so, so we're getting into the category of entertainment. Like yes, you can absolutely stay at your res resort and enjoy the resort and swim and everything. But if you want to get the full Disney experience and more of the, you know, more of the, the characters and what Disney offers, you're going to be into the parks for at least another day. So again like tack on another almost thousand dollars of tickets.
So the reason I mentioned that it's less expensive to go in September and October, that becomes a key point because if you're going on a three night cruise like I just was on, it is relatively easy for a family of four, I would say to find a cruise around $3,000 if you're smart and you're flexible. Flexible. And you can go on the right weekend and then on Top of that, if you have a placeholder, which is a beautiful thing if you have a placeholder. But there are discounts that also oftentimes come out for September and October because it's a season where kids are back in school and parents aren't always willing to pull their kids from school. So Disney's trying to make it enticing for people to go on their cruise ships when they're seeing low rates of capacity on their cruises, which is also another perk going on a cruise where it's not completely full.
So anyways, all of the math I think tallies up where you're going to have a pretty equivalent price. You can choose the right weekend and find a cruise that's going to be around that $3,000 price point. But now you're talking about an experience that's going to be much more full and much more all inclusive feeling. And I, I love Disney parks, but I, I'm more in love with Disney Cruise Line now. And so that would always be my number one choice over the theme parks these days. So that's it in, in, in a nutshell.
And I would encourage people to price out a cruise and then compare it to what the projected costs of the parfication could be and, and you're going to be surprised.
[00:23:58] Speaker B: Well, and all of the like, I would also add in like with your cruise fare, all of the additional activities that you can get involved in on board the port. There will be a port stop, you know, so it's, it's a different experience.
I'm curious. I've always thought Halloween on the high seas is one of those cruises that can be a lot of fun is like a three night cruise like because it's not Christmas. The holiday cruises there's, you're typically like there's a lot that can happen on the ship and some things get kind of compressed or cut off. Like if you're doing a short or sailing and spreading that out over the week is kind of nice. With Halloween it's like tree lighting trick or treating some fun characters, you know, like that can all be accomplished in kind of a day. And so I don't know what you think, Elizabeth.
[00:24:43] Speaker C: I think this is three or four days. Yeah.
[00:24:44] Speaker B: Yeah, I think, I think this is a great thing for great short sailing. Yeah. Like I would consider hopping down to San Diego to do a Halloween on the high seas cruise because it's, it's, you know, to your point, it's probably cheaper than us trying to go to Disneyland and in three nights you can Have a nice long weekend and do kind of a fun sailing. But I don't know if you agree with that based on your experience.
[00:25:03] Speaker A: I do, because I think this is probably true on most of the sailings that are even longer. But certainly on the three night sailing, there was one day, that one day night that was committed to the Halloween theme. And I do think that that's the case for the longer sailings too. It's like one day, one night on the schedule is the heavy, heavy emphasized Halloween.
And there are Halloween things that are scattered throughout. So don't get me wrong, there are things that you can participate in throughout, especially like that first they do an amazing pumpkin tree lighting and that's like a great way to kick off the theme of the, of the Halloween spirit.
But there is one day, one night that is committed to it. And yeah, I think it's easy to plan around that day and the things that you want to do that specific day and just make that the priority.
But I mean otherwise, like the things that are woven throughout the rest of the cruise, it just makes you feel like those touches are there.
The Halloween day is not the only time that the characters are in Halloween costumes. They definitely were out for a whole nother evening. And again, I was only on a three night sailing, but they were out on in their costumes that one evening. There's Halloween music, not too spooky, but Halloween music that's filtered throughout the whole entire ship that like gives you that vibe, you know, little signage, little treats, coffee drinks, cocktails for the adults. Like there's just these little touches that when you're walking around, you're just like, oh, this feels special, this feels different.
And then of course the decorations, I mean the grand atrium and the grand hall is just amazing. You know, if anybody's ever seen it for Christmas time, Halloween does it exactly the same way in that you walk in and it just feels like they've done it up and they want you to enjoy the spirit of that season and the festivities of it.
[00:26:37] Speaker C: So yeah, for those listening to the audio version after the fact, I encourage you once again to come over to our YouTube and watch the video version because we've got great pictures from Alyssa showing for example, Boo, the Halloween tree that is in the grand hall of the Disney Wish, which was the ship that she was just recently on. We've got one of the decorated portholes, we've got another picture of her and another one of the TAs from We do travel right pose in front of the tree. We've Got a stitch popcorn bucket, and of course, a carved Mickey pumpkin. They are like, Disney just knows how to do the decor.
What areas of the ship are. I mean, of course, we know the atrium is the most decorated, but I feel like there are other decorations kind of scattered more. I mean, centrally located for the most part. But tell folks what they sort of can expect when they. When they walk around a Disney ship for a Halloween sailing.
[00:27:36] Speaker A: I mean, I personally, this. This is not necessarily what Disney put up, but I personally also really love walking around just the hallways of the staterooms. I mean, that. That is totally underrated. I have done this with my kids many a times where we will just go full circle on the decks just to check out the magnets and all of the door decor. And so when you're on one of these theme sailings, people go all out for that as well. So that's a lot of fun. I probably should have included a picture so you could see what some of the doors look like, but that is super, super fun. And like I said, as you're doing that, you're listening to the Halloween music in the hallways.
Another thing that I noticed. And again, it's just like, the subtle touches. It's the subtle little things. But. But even when I was up on the top deck at the, you know, the. The food and getting, like, Donald's Cantina, just the little signs that tell you what the food is. There's, like, little Halloween decorations on that. And you go into the sweet shop and there's, you know, specialty treats and some of. Oh, my gosh, some of the coffee drinks we had at the. At the, you know, the Wishing Star and, like, the. The specialty coffee areas that are right in the grand hall, they were so good. We went there every single day for coffee and got to get those, like, themed, seasonal, you know, coffees. And then we would go at nighttime to turn them into espresso martinis. So it was. It was. It was just a lot of fun. I mean, you'll skip ahead.
[00:28:50] Speaker B: I'm gonna skip ahead because you have photos of this stuff. So let me throw those up.
[00:28:53] Speaker C: Some of the food and the coffee drinks. Yeah, I love those.
[00:28:56] Speaker A: Yeah, so that's exactly what. Yeah, so you'll see that menu. And as far as I know, I think that the menu definitely changes year to year, and I think it might change ship to ship, too. And so you can expect to have, like, a different experience. I think if you. You love it so much, you want to go a different year.
[00:29:11] Speaker B: So, Sam, I just need to Say, I gots to have the Stitch popcorn bucket.
[00:29:16] Speaker D: I'm sorry.
[00:29:16] Speaker B: Like, Stitch is a mummy holding his own candy thing. Like, I love it, actually.
[00:29:21] Speaker C: Was that. Is it a popcorn bucket or is it a sipper? I couldn't. I called it a popcorn bucket, but it might actually be a sipper.
[00:29:28] Speaker B: That looks like it's probably a pop bucket.
[00:29:31] Speaker A: This is not something that I purchased. This was from my friend Rachel.
But there were, like, two different types of popcorn buckets that were being sold right outside the theater. And I think that they might be the same ones that are being sold in the parks. I'm pretty sure that that's the case because, I mean, you can take them from the parks onto the ship.
[00:29:47] Speaker C: I think that's so funny.
[00:29:48] Speaker A: Maybe that is a popcorn bucket with the strap on the back.
[00:29:51] Speaker B: Yeah. I was thinking.
[00:29:53] Speaker C: I think you're right.
[00:29:54] Speaker B: I was also thinking it's cute that they gave Stitch a little candy pail to carry around, because, you know, that guy's not asking for treats. He's just doing tricks the whole night.
[00:30:02] Speaker C: So, yeah, he's just doing tricks. I have the Mickey Pop popcorn bucket where he's dressed as a mummy. I love that. But I want to go back to one question, though.
If you go back two slides, Brian, or once back to the slide with Stitch merchandise, we got to talk just a little bit. What do they have in the shops on board in terms of merchandise in addition to popcorn buckets and sippers that are, of course, Halloween themed?
[00:30:28] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:30:29] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Lots of, I mean, really lots and lots of apparel. That, that was for sure, like, the dominant thing. And it is exclusive, you know, to the Disney cruise ships. So if you love it, grab it, because you're not going to have a great opportunity otherwise. But lots of apparel, lots of spirit jerseys. There were really cute Halloween ears that you could pick up. They had mugs, I remember, like, coffee mugs, of course, pins.
You know, anything that you would expect to see, like, at the Mickey's not so scary Halloween parties. As far as apparel goes and merchandise, you're going to see similar things on the Disney cruise ships as well. So definitely opportunity to, to pick that swag up.
[00:31:05] Speaker C: Yeah, I love that. I, I, I love how oftentimes you can see, you know, how you see, like, a shirt at Disneyland with the Disneyland logo, and then you see the same shirt at Disney World with the Disney World logo. I love how they do the same thing on cruise line, and they might have the same exact. I mean, they'll have some exclusive items that are different but they'll have, like, the same spirit jersey, for example, with the Disney Cruise Line logo on the back. And I. I always love that because. Because if I'm choosing the order for me, I'll tell you, the hierarchy is Cruise Line Land World World is, like, not even on the screen. Sorry, guys.
[00:31:41] Speaker B: It's Cruise Line Club 33 merchandise. Then Disneyland than Disney World. I know.
[00:31:49] Speaker C: That's true. That's true.
[00:31:50] Speaker A: But even more exclusive than the cruise Line.
[00:31:53] Speaker C: Even more. Yes, but only Disney. Well, only if I can get in. And only Disneyland Club 33 merch. I want to be very, very clear. I'm not buying merch at Disney World's Club 33. In fact, we've never been inside Disney World's Club 33. Anyway. All right. Sorry, Brian. I went back slides. You can go back two slides ahead.
[00:32:13] Speaker B: I think I went out of order, so don't keep the numbers. I went to the last slide to show the food and the beverage. So. Yeah, okay.
[00:32:20] Speaker C: Nevermind. Sorry. My bad. Okay.

[00:33:33] Speaker C: characters. You mentioned the characters and that multiple times they are in costumes. Tell us, like, what we can expect in terms of who gets costumes and when are, like, the best opportunities to see them in costumes. And then obviously, I know there are scheduled, like, picture times, but when are the best times to sort of see the Characters in costumes?
[00:33:53] Speaker A: Yeah, for the most part, I find that the characters are. Especially when they have like something special like this, like the Halloween costumes or like pirate costumes and stuff. I think that they're commonly given. The guests are given the opportunity like twice a day. It's like once in the afternoon for an opportunity and then in the evening. And I think it really depends on when or what's taking place during the day. I know on some sailings that are a little bit longer, like ours was an. Was a castaway key day that we had at the Halloween day. So most people are off the boat at that point and if it's being offered during the daytime and characters are the biggest priority for your family, and especially if you've been to Castaway Key before and you'd rather stay on the ship and meet the characters in their costumes, like that would be the prime time, because I don't think the waits would be any longer than like five minutes maybe now if you wait until later in the evening, that's when everybody's going to be trying to hit them up. And so it's not to say that you can't. You just have to. To be more prepared to wait unless they're being offered a little bit later in the evening after a lot of the little kids have gone to bed. So really the best opportunities are going to be in the middle of the day as well as later in the evening. And I always tell my clients and my guests, as soon as you get to the ship and as soon as you can connect to the WI fi, check and see when those times are being offered. And just make sure you're aware of how you want to sort of create your schedule and how you want to stack your schedule, because that time passes and then you've missed that event or you've missed that character and it might not be offered again. So, so just kind of build it as soon as you get there and, and then you'll get notifications through the app like that's the best way to do it. And just plan ahead a little bit. Take, take an hour, map it out, and you're good to go for the rest of the trip.
[00:35:24] Speaker C: So, so 100% and, and prioritize, right? So like, if you really want to see the Sanderson sisters, right, so you've got. Which is Minnie, Clarabelle and Daisy dressed as the Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus, like that needs to be your number one priority. And so if you're going to do that, make sure that, like, if it conflicts with something else. I'm going to the Sanderson Sisters, let's say a half hour before they start their meet and greet, or maybe even more, because they are actually probably the most in demand. The other tip I will give is characters on Castaway will never be in their Halloween costumes. So if you see me, if your Halloween day happens to correspond with Castaway Day and you want to meet characters on Castaway, that's great. They will not be in their Halloween costumes. They will be in their castaway costume. Same goes for Lookout Key.
The characters do not go on the island in anything beyond their Bahamian wear. And I don't know if that's an agreement with the Bahamian government or what, but that's how it always is.
[00:36:30] Speaker B: So similar. I need to answer a question. In the chat, Alicia's asking, what are all the tree names? And the tree names are. So I think on the Disney Magic, it's Reap. On the Disney Wonder, it is Bog. On Disney Dream, it is Grim. On the Disney fantasy, it is Mucklebones.
On the Wish, it is Boo. On the treasure, it's Ginger. And the Destiny premiered her tree this year as Solara. So there are the different names of the different trees, and they're all themed differently. So. Yes. And then I know, we'll talk about. Oh, go ahead. No, go ahead, Alyssa.
[00:37:01] Speaker A: Oh, I was gonna just say one thing about the trees that I think that's really cool that, you know, guests should know before they board is the Trident class ships. The trees all have taken, like, the shape of basically a female face in the middle, and they're a little bit more modernized looking, whereas the old, you know, like, the older ships seem to have more of a feel of, like, Sleepy Hollow trees, and it's more true to classic storytelling.
[00:37:23] Speaker C: Yeah, I feel like they're. I feel like the older ships, it's a little more cartoony, and then the ones on the Wish class give me, like, Pocahontas vibes. You know, the tree, like, the. They kind of give me that kind of.
[00:37:35] Speaker B: This one reminded me of. This one actually reminds me of Moana. That looks like Te Fiti on the front of the tree with the circles and everything.
[00:37:42] Speaker D: Like.
[00:37:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I was getting Moana vibes.
[00:37:44] Speaker A: I thought, too, a little bit when I first got on. I mean, she.
Yeah, it's a different take, but it does give that vibe, for sure. I thought that when I got on.
[00:37:51] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:37:51] Speaker C: Yeah. Well, okay. Well, I want to talk about.
You've got, of course, pictures from the deck party, and. Yes. Here's costume. Okay, maybe we'll go back to that. We got to talk about this.
Costumes. Okay. Obviously this is the best group costume ever to have group costume in the entire world.
And you as Beaker, Chef's kiss perfection.
There is perhaps no better real out there than your real just walking around the ship as Beaker with Menomina playing in the background.
The only one that rivals it is perhaps Emily's reel of Statler and Waldorf making jokes about the wish, which was also hilarious. But anyway, tell us about costumes. Do you.
You all were dressed up and you did a fantastic group costume. I know this was a group cruise for the agents themselves. You didn't bring your families with you, but like, does everyone dress up for Halloween? And what should people be thinking about in terms of packing a costume? How many costumes, for example?
[00:39:02] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, this is a really good question. Another question that I get from, from my clients a lot as well. And I think especially adults want to know, like, will I feel left out if I'm not wearing a costume or will I feel weird if I'm wearing a costume? And so the answer is, you won't feel strange either way.
If I had to, I mean kids for sure. I don't know if I saw any children that were not in costumes on the Halloween specific day. And then adults, if I had to like give a percentage, I would probably say it was like 40 to 50% of adults that were probably dressed up and then 25% of them like full on costumes like us, like really go for it.
And then for a lot of people, even if they're not wearing costumes, they're still wearing Halloween attire, you know, spooky, you know, haunted mansion prints or, you know, ears, like every. Everybody's participating in their own way and what, what they are happy, you know, to do.
So you won't feel uncomfortable at all. I will say be careful because it gets hot. So, you know, as far as like how many costumes to bring, I think especially if you have children, just be conscious, like if they have a very ornate costume, they might really enjoy wearing that for an hour. And you might really love to take pictures in that special costume, but doing that the whole entire night, if it's heavy, they're going to get hot and they're probably not going to want to wear it the entire time. So. So bringing either a backup outfit or a backup costume for anything that might get hot is a good decision. In fact, that's 100% what I did too. Like even wearing that beaker lab Coat and the hat. I don't know if I can use a hat.
[00:40:25] Speaker C: Your mask, your hat.
[00:40:27] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. I mean, a lot of us in the Muppets costumes, we did pictures and shenanigans for maybe an hour and a half before dinner and then kind of got changed before dinner. I.
I took my lab coat. Now I'm remembering I took my lab coat off and I took my head off, obviously for dinner. And then after dinner I went and got changed and I just had like a haunted Mansion skirt and shirt that I wore. So still wanted to stay in theme, but I would say that that's probably the common run that you're gonna see. A lot of people also wore pajamas, and not just on the Halloween day. Like lots of kids wore pajamas every night that were themed. And I think that's a really fun thing to participate in. And a bunch of us agents, we also had Disney Cruise Line pajamas that we wore out. Like, it's a go. You don't have to feel embarrassed. Just have fun and be comfortable.
[00:41:15] Speaker B: It's also a perfect opportunity if your kids have been wanting to do the Bippity Boppity Boutique and they want to be a princess or a pirate or a captain or whatever it is for Halloween. Don't even have to pack the costume. Just bring some space in your luggage and take the costume home with you. But yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:41:31] Speaker A: I'm kind of surprised they don't do.
[00:41:32] Speaker B: And I'm kind of surprised they don't do like some Halloween themed Bibbidi Boppity Boutique. Like have one costume for boys and girls and then, you know, they'll do you up in the costume. But yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:41:44] Speaker C: One thing I love, the point you make is about kids getting hot or uncomfortable in their costumes. I know. For Nathan, for example, last year for Halloween, he was the space engineer from the Galactic Star Cruiser Sammy. And so he had this like full on blue jumpsuit and. And he was allowed to wear costumes to school on Halloween day.
And he put that thing on in the morning and he said, nope, not good. Like, because he knew he wasn't going to be able to like wear that for the whole day. It wasn't going to be comfortable enough. And lucky enough, the smart mom that I am, I pat myself on the back.
I grabbed his Captain America hooded sweatshirt, put him in some blue pants and he had this plastic shield and I set him off to school as Captain America. Right. So that was like. Yeah, it was not. It was more bounding than a costume, but it was like perfect because it was something he could last in all day. So I think having like that second option that is more in a lot of people, I think do the bounding thing as opposed to the full on costume as well. Like you mentioned, a lot of people will just also just do like, like I'm wearing my Halloween sweatshirt, right? Somebody might wear their Halloween sweatshirt, T shirt, whatnot. So I love that. I think that's a great, great option.
Let's talk about trick or treating because that happens of course, on Halloween night. Tell us how they did trick or treating on the ship. And I know they do it differently on different ships, right? If I'm, if I'm remembering correctly, yeah, they do.
[00:43:23] Speaker A: And I for sure know they do. They, at least this season they're doing it differently on the Treasure versus the Wish. So on the Wish, you know, we just got back a week ago or so, they have you go up to the top deck and this is right around the Masquerade party. And timing wise, I know a lot of people want to know timing of all of this. And so I'm pretty sure they had people begin to congregate up there around 7 o' clock to start to get candy. And the masquerade like deck party show actually started at 7:15 or 7:30.
And the show was pretty brief, but on the Wish at least, they gave us bags that were pre filled with candy. So there wasn't actually like trick or treating spots that I think a lot of people are accustomed to.
Now, had you been on the Treasure? Because, and I know this because I had some guests that were on the Treasure a week and a half ago. So almost simultaneously they did do trick or treating spots where they were walking around to different points to have candy dumped into their bags.
And I think a lot of times this is done on the deck. But for this particular family, they said it was actually in the grand hall. So I don't know if it was due to wind or rain maybe, but that's where it took place. And she said it was on like decks 4, 5 and 6, that they, they could go to like various spots to actually make it feel more like trick or treating.
And then I was thinking too, it might have to do with capacity. You know, if the ship is very, very full, it might be that they give you the bags of candy to expedite that process. Because if you have, you know, a thousand people trying to walk around to the same spots, it could be really congested and a little chaotic. So yeah, maybe that also dictates the decision making when it comes to that. So I think you can expect any one of those.
Any one of those pathways.
[00:45:00] Speaker C: Yeah, well, and it may also be that the length of sailing might impact too. Right. Because trick or treating, if you're going to multiple places will take some time. And when you're on a shorter sailing, there's a lot to pack in. As we, as you mentioned before, there's just a lot to pack in on just those three days and especially really on one day because that's the main sort of Halloween day. And if it's a port day, even, even more so.
Let's, let's talk about the Mouse grade party. What can guests expect when they attend the Mouse GR Deck party?
[00:45:33] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean, it's so, so cute. It's very reminiscent of the Sail Away party, but briefer, it's a little bit shorter. And obviously you can kind of see in the picture you have the prime characters in their costumes dancing to Halloween themed music. Like, I'm a big Descendants fan and so like that was my jam, watching Mickey and Daisy and everybody kind of rock out to some of the Descendants of music. But they do their little performance on stage and then they actually do come into the crowd and dance with, with the guests. And like, I think that is a really special part that makes it better than just a stage show is that you can actually like interact and, and you know, you can, you can dance with these characters and get videos with your kids and pictures of them dancing with them. And it's, it's, it's really, really, it's fun and special.
And they do a really good job too, of moving around. Like, they don't stay in one spot. I think that they actually have handlers that tell them at different points. Like now it's time to move to point C and then point to point D.
So they make their rounds across the whole deck. So, you know, you don'. Run to each one. Like they will eventually circle around.
That's the best part of the party, I think, is that particular piece.
[00:46:38] Speaker B: So we have a quick question in the chat here, Alyssa, about do they have allergy friendly candy on board? I'm assuming the answer has to be yes, but I don't know.
[00:46:47] Speaker A: Yeah, for sure. And in fact, I have a gluten sensitivity, so. Yeah. So I am very keen and aware to this sort of thing. And they do. There was like a specific, specific spot that said like allergy friendly candy and you can pick it up right there. So yes, very clearly marked and very easy to get to. There was no Line, don't worry about that at all. Just make sure to always express your needs and what your allergy is and they will take care of you.
[00:47:11] Speaker B: And one other question we had lurking up above that was just about the other activities. Did they have Halloween themed trivia or character drawing or things like that? And was that spread out over the sailing or was it all confined to sort of one day?
[00:47:28] Speaker A: Yeah, very good question. That. That did seem to be spread out. And so there were things like Halloween trivia, Halloween music, like Name that Tune. One of the slides shows some of the crafts. There is crafting that took place a handful of times too. And it was, you know, cute little things. Yeah, like have you seen that top left corner in the bottom right corner. So you know, craft, mainly crafting that had to do with like villains. That that was really it. There was like a villain game show, which I think I've actually seen that villain game show on a sailing that was not just Halloween on the high
[00:47:59] Speaker C: seas, but still, it's like a Hollywood Square, right?
[00:48:02] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
What you'll see there on the right hand side, that is the pumpkin tree lighting that took place on the first day. So that was that. Like I said, I wouldn't miss that. If you have kids. Like that was a super fun way to kind of kick things off.
So for sure, like there was a lot of things that again, look at the schedule when you connect to the WI fi so that you can pay attention to to when the stuff is happening that you want to attend.
It is very heavy on the Halloween day, but there were things like trivia and Name that Tune and stuff that were scattered periodically on the other days too.
[00:48:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I was gonna say for the tree lighting ceremony too, you can kind of see it here, but they usually have a space up front where like kids can kind of sit. I don't know if they did that on this sailing, but I was just gonna let parents out there know, like if you've got young kids, you can kind of let them walk up front and sit. Sit down in the front. They usually try to keep the kids up front so they can see everything and the adults can kind of stand in the back and see stuff.
[00:48:53] Speaker C: So. Yeah, yeah. And they also.
The wheelchair accessible area is right on that in this picture. You can actually see it. Cause you can see a woman beyond right behind the blue rope that is in a wheelchair. And so there's an accessible area if you are. We have some great shows about accessibility. But if you are a wheelchair user or use some Other mobility device. It's usually your plus one other person that can go into those accessible areas for viewing for the show, for the. Well, the tree lighting and the tree lighting.
I feel like it's longer than you expect it to be because they tell the whole story, right, Alyssa?
[00:49:36] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. It was for sure longer than I expected.
I can't remember I was supposed to meet some people. I was like, I'm just going to go do this real quick for five minutes. And I think I ended up being there for 20.
So, yeah, there's a whole thing to it and it's really nice. I mean, I'm really glad that I took the time to go to it, basically. I mean, I think at this point, I don't think that they were lit yet, but when you first board the ship, the pumpkins are not lit. And then they tell the story of the enchantment and on the wish. It's pretty cool because they say the wishing star enchanted the tree. And one of the pumpkins is like one of the pumpkins grows to be one of the pumpkins that takes Cinderella in the carriage and they weave it together so, so beautifully, magically.
It was. It was just great. Again, if you're a Disney lover, like, this is. This is going to be your cup of tea. So. But yeah, I want to say it was like 15 or 20 minutes in total.
[00:50:26] Speaker C: Yeah. And I got to point out the popcorn bucket on the screen because there's the really cute ghosty with the Mickey ears popcorn bucket. That one was also sold in the parks. But that is a great popcorn bucket.
[00:50:39] Speaker A: Yeah. And I should also mention another thing with the, with the theming of Halloween is they are showing not productions, but movies, you know, in the theaters and on the top deck of the. Yeah, like, you know, Hocus Pocus, obviously. Hocus Pocus 2, Nightmare Before Christmas, Halloween Town.
I'm sure that there were others, but again, like, if you love that kind of stuff, like you can be sitting by the pool watching your kids watching Hocus Pocus on the screen too. It's really fun.
[00:51:04] Speaker C: I love it. Now, there was also. There is an Oogie Boogie themed party.
I think you had a picture of it on one of the slides. Brian, if you will find it for.
But tell there it is.
Villainous Nightmare.
[00:51:20] Speaker A: This was my favorite. I mean, this is. This was like really and truly my favorite. I wish I could like show you a video because I mentioned how on the deck, you know, the characters come right around to you and Oogie Boogie literally got like up in my face, dancing with me. I have a. I have a reel that I have on my. My Instagram page. And I have never had any sort of. I've never met Oogie Boogie period.
So this was just super, super fun. And I didn't expect it to be as like, intimate is not the right word, but you know, to be up close and personal with with him and he was just. He was dancing with so many people. You know, he spent probably like 10 to 15 seconds with me and then move on to the next person and.
And he's right there, you know, like there's a handler, but the handler stays out of the way and he is just. He's getting down. So it was so fun. So fun. And he's such a rare character to get to meet. So this was a huge highlight.
It was later, I want to say it was 10 o' clock at night night. So it didn't feel super crowded in there at all.
This was in the space where like the Hero zone. This is the space where they have, you know, athletic things that kids can do and, you know, people can go to. And so it was a nice open space, but it didn't feel too packed at all.
So high, high. Recommendations? Stay up for the. I think it was. It was on my Halloween night, which was the last night. And make it to this because I think it would be a huge highlight for any family too.
[00:52:33] Speaker C: I will say this is, I believe, only offered on the Wish class because it's the only one that has that Hero Zone venue.
We did experience this on, I think on the Wish.
Yeah, I think it was on the Wish because I don't think we've sailed Halloween on the Treasure or the Destiny. And this was a highlight for me. And I got a. Also similar to you list. I got a great video of Boogie just like coming right up in my face. Like it was like so. And it's such a great character interaction.
[00:53:03] Speaker B: Kind of freaked me out when he came up to me, like, and I. I would be at Halloween Horror Nights and that was still a little bit like, what is happen right now?
[00:53:11] Speaker C: Yeah, he's a little. He's a little. And there's like this great sort of, you know, you like, his voice is projected like ominous in the Hero Zone. And it's just really, really fun. It's just a great, like, it's a great dance party.
Yeah, it was, it was phenomenal. I don't know that they do this on every sailing. It probably is somewhat schedule dependent, but like I said, this is A wish class thing.
Now, Alyssa, there's so many Halloween things, but there's all these other things to do on Halloween on the high seas cruise, like you did, you, you did. You have all the other trappings of a, of a Disney Cruise, Line shows and deck parties and all that other stuff too. Because it feels like I don't know how you fit it all in.
[00:53:58] Speaker A: Yeah, I mean this is, this is why I say that I think this is the value packed trip to take compared to doing, doing the parks. It's just because you do get everything that Disney Cruise Line offers and then this is just the icing on the cake.
So I should say that this was my fourth time on the Disney Wish, so I have seen the productions on the Disney Wish multiple times. So again, coming back to the point of like, what is your biggest priority? The productions were not my biggest priority just because I've seen them before.
You know, my biggest priority was for sure the Halloween things. Getting to spend time with the agents that were. We had 28 agents. And so this was my first time going on like a real agency trip with that many people. So I wanted to spend time with them, of course. But yeah, I mean all of the productions are running. There is Pirate Night, that was our second night. And you know, I wouldn't say that Halloween stuff goes out the window, but Pirate Night is the big focus. So all of us dressed as pirates and it's just, it's so immersive and so fun no matter what they're doing.
So yeah, you're not missing out on anything just because it's a Halloween themed cruise. It's just all being integrated in.
So just make sure to pick, to pick what you want to experience. The three night cruises are short, but you can really maximize it, um, as long as you just kind of plan ahead. And if you have the opportunity to do a longer cruise, even better, you won't feel quite as rushed.
[00:55:14] Speaker B: So yeah, the, the only bummer that I've heard of late is that sometimes on the shorter cruises they're doing Halloween in a compressed way on the very first night of the sailing. And like that, that's that, that, that I would love to see them. Like let's make it the middle night, you know, so that like everyone can
[00:55:29] Speaker C: participate on the last night.
[00:55:30] Speaker B: Yeah, whatever it is. But like, like the compressing it into the first night, it's always so like I feel like people are tired from travel. Like, you know, it's in that sort of thing. It is interesting to think about Halloween Pirate Night, basically you have two nights where you're wearing costumes on board. So it is definitely going to feel like Halloween by the end of that sailing point.
[00:55:48] Speaker A: Oh, for sure. And you know what I think would be cool too is, I mean, they probably won't change this just because they do their pirate fireworks so well. But if they did a Halloween themed fireworks on Halloween, like the Halloween night and replace that with the pirate fireworks, I think that would be a super cool, attractive thing to get people to want to experience it.
[00:56:06] Speaker C: So I want to, I want to see Oogie on the, on the line instead of Jack. Captain Jack Sparrow, right? Like, I want, I want to see him like, you know, repel down or go across the deck.
[00:56:20] Speaker B: He has no hands, Sam.
[00:56:22] Speaker C: From what I can tell, he has hands. They're just, they're like mittens. They're like this. Yeah, they're. They're like this. He just doesn't have fingers. He has hands. He doesn't have fingers. No. I would love, I would like. They'd have to like extend the deck party, right? Like the Mousequerade party would have to be a little bit more like, a little bit more story focused, like the pirate deck party.
But I'm with you. I think that would be actually really fun during Halloween season replacing pirate night. But you know, people get all up in arms if we say there's not a pirate night on any particular sailing. And so I do feel like that's, you know, that's always an issue, you know. Alyssa, I want to ask who you think Halloween on the high seas is for in terms of family structure, right? Like is Halloween on the high seas for the adult couple or the single adult? Or is it for the family with kids? Or is it for the multi generational family? Like who do you think?
[00:57:19] Speaker B: Or is it for all of the above?
[00:57:21] Speaker C: Or is it for all of the above? But like who do you think it targets more specifically? But then who do you think? I guess could really enjoy a sailing?
[00:57:28] Speaker A: Like, I mean, I absolutely think adults who love Disney are going to love this no matter what. I mean, obviously though, I do think that the biggest target is going to be families with younger kids. You mentioned how you're not a Halloween girly and that you don't like horror. I am the same way. I steer so far away from that kind of stuff. I would not touch Halloween horror nights in my lifetime. And I have a 12 year old and a 10 year old and they both are the same way. They don't like that kind of horror stuff. But this is our kind of Halloween. And it's not creepy, it's not scary. It is just fun and magical Halloween. And so, so if you have kids under 10, like, this is so, so perfect. That would probably be like my prime demographic selection for these types of cruises. Not to say teenagers won't like it. Again, if you love Disney and if you love the parks and you love characters like you are, you are not alienated from this by any means.
And 28 adults took this cruise and we all had the most amazing time and enjoyed all of the Halloween fun. So I think it's for everybody. But probably the prime market would be for families with younger children. Children.
[00:58:27] Speaker C: Yeah. And I think if you love a group costume, right? So if you're someone who loves a group costume, like this is whether adult or teen or otherwise, right? Like a group costume is like a perfect fit on a Halloween Disney sailing. I mean, you could do matching T shirts on any Disney sailing or, you know, matching or coordinating bounds on any Disney sailing. But I think that going all out with the full on costume is sort of perfect.
[00:58:56] Speaker B: JEFFREY R. And yes, Mickey's not so scary. Halloween on the high seas is probably
[00:59:01] Speaker C: the way to think about it. Or Oogie Boogie Bash on the high seas would be a very good comparison. And as Alyssa mentioned, this is something. If you are looking at a trip to the parks versus a trip on Disney Cruise Line, you can do the math and figure out very, very quickly that when you're looking at budget, this is where Disney Cruise Line might actually edge out the park parks. I mean, it can in other ways because of food being included and all of that.
We have a question about weather. This is one thing to consider. What would you tell folks who are worried about the weather in terms of September, October? You know, we do know you're getting, you know, into hurricane season.
[00:59:42] Speaker B: Well, with I, I would give one caveat here, which is this year is a super El Nino, which means reduced hurricane activity in that area. And so, like, they actually have, they're actually marveling that they have not had a hurricane yet. Like there has not been a September in many, many years without a hurricane. So. So this year may be a bit of an anomaly, but yes. Alyssa, how is the weather?
[01:00:05] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So I, I live in Charleston, South Carolina, so we, we handle the same sort of, you know, weather that Florida handles.
[01:00:12] Speaker C: You handle weather?
[01:00:12] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah.
And so this is also part of the reason, I think September and October tend to be less expensive is taking, taking this into account as well.
So I would probably say that you do have to be aware that it is a tropical storm season. And that means even if you don't get a hurricane, it could be rainy, it could be that you're, you know, you're rocking a little bit more.
So just kind of go, go into it understanding that. I definitely recommend getting trip insurance because you just never know what could, what could possibly happen. Disney Cruise Line offers trip insurance. I know a lot of credit cards have coverage, but, like, whatever it is, just make sure that you have, have something that gives you the peace of mind and the reassurance that if something popped up, you're not, you're not losing a big investment or you're not stuck in Florida because a hurricane's coming through and having to have that investment.
And again, we're talking about the rare situations that, you know, it lines up with your vacation, but it, you know, you just want to make sure that you're, you're covered in that situation.
And then as far as being worried about, like, the rockiness of the water and all of that, like prescription medicine, the little bands that you can wear around your, your, your hands, like, there's things in preventative, you know, actions that you can take to prepare in the situation that, you know, you have some, some rough seas.
I have taken a lot of cruises across many cruise lines, and I've only been on one where anybody in my family got sick. And so, you know, I think if you're sensitive, you just need to be aware of that. But for the most part, I think the majority of guests tend to do okay. These are very, very big ships, so it would take some pretty rough seas to really cause issues amongst, like, the majority of guests.
So hopefully that helps.
[01:01:48] Speaker C: Absolutely. Well, folks, if you are interested, of course, in booking a Halloween on the high seas cruise or any other Disney cruise or any other Disney vacation or non Disney vacation, the folks that we do travel right are so amazing, so incredible. They're, of course, booking all of our travel for us.
[01:02:08] Speaker B: But if you're interested and Sam, you got to tell them, or maybe Alyssa can. Like, I am still blown away by the folks who will book your dining.
[01:02:16] Speaker C: Oh, the dining and experiences team.
[01:02:18] Speaker B: Yeah.
Like, definitely going to start taking advantage of that. And I've heard such good things about it. Alyssa, I don't know if you want to say a little bit about that, but, like, what, Like, I, you know, I've heard of, like, there are travel agents that, that book dining for you, but, like, there's a whole team at we travel right that just focuses on getting people dining and other things. So. Yeah. Do you want to say a little bit about, about that?
[01:02:37] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I can tell you. And you guys know Emily. A huge part of what Emily values and prioritizes within the agency is team collaboration and making sure everybody feels supported so that we can give the guests the best experience possible. And so, you know, she has built an assistance team and a dining team and different departments that will help support every single agent and all of the guests that we, that we service.
And so, so, yeah, I mean, if a lot, A lot of times guests don't want to stay up until midnight to book their cruise extras, I don't blame them. And so we have people who will handle that for you. And not only will they handle it for you, they've done it many, many times before. And they know what they're doing and they're not second guessing where they need to click next. Like they know exactly where to go. So it's giving you the best shot possible.
But that is just one, one area of the support that we have within the agency. I mean, there are so many different ways, ways that you know that the guests will feel supported not just by their specific travel agent, but by a whole team behind them. So I think that that's something that shines within WeDoTravel. Right? So, yeah, something to consider for sure. And that we honestly, we specialize in Disney Cruise Line.
We love it and we're really good at it.
[01:03:48] Speaker C: So, yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. You guys are the best. We're so thankful for this partnership.
